I ve only used it in temps down to the fahrenheit teens so not a real cold weather challenge but i felt absolutely no cold spots and was comfortable for the duration of the outing. The stuff sack is large enough that even with a little bit of air inside it still fits nicely. You simply open one valve the mat inflates a little bit by itself due to the foam the rest is done with the internal pump which is simply a structured foam by allowing air to get into the foam closing the valve with the hand and pressing the air from the foam into the mat. Cooler weather is here and with it the need for serious insulation under your sleeping bag. Even having been used in temperatures around 25 celsius the exped manages to keep the bottom of your sleeping bag warm and comfortable.
