The floor function is a built in function in excel that is categorized as a math trig function. Floor math provides a default significance of 1 rounding to nearest integer. Floor rounds positive numbers down toward zero. It can be used as a worksheet function ws in excel.

The excel floor function rounds numbers down toward zero based on the multiple of significance that you specify. Floor rounds negative numbers down away from zero. Whenever a number is rounded it is rounded either up or down that is greater than the value of the number or less than the value of the number.
