The lift type lid allows easy access and the box size provides for large quantities of bread products to be stored. I made these same bread boxes last christmas as gifts for family. This particular bread box is based on one of the more common designs and is therefore easier to build than one with a roll top lid. Both side panels have been routed 3 4 by 3 8 deep all the way around and all the other pieces fit in to the sides.
